Letter, 1745 Feb. 13, Boston [to] Gov. Morris. Shirley as governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony writes to Gov. Morris of New Jersey. The letter concerns the raising of an army and acquiring provisions, most likely in preparation for the Siege of Louisbourg in Nova Scotia later in 1745. -- Document, 1747 Dec. 24, Boston, New England. A draft directed to William Pitt, Pay Master of his Majesty's Land Forces, the sum of 250 pounds sterling to John Spooner. The payment relates to the expedition against Canada. John Spooner signs the draft, ordering payment to Tho. Plumsted & Son, Jun. 4, 1748; Plumsted & Son has signed to confirm receipt of the money.
